Chicken that tastes like chicken! We are not talking about the bland, mass-produced chicken that you find at the grocery store, but chicken that is truly pasture-raised.
Remember what Grandma’s (or perhaps Great-Grandma’s) Sunday chicken tasted like? Our truly pasture-raised chicken will take you back to that wonderful time when chicken tasted like chicken.
Our chickens are humanely raised on chemical-free pastures where they can roam and forage each day. Their coops are moved regularly so that the chickens always have fresh grass and forage underfoot.
Although chickens love to be outside and may even be seen pecking at blades of grass, chickens are not able to digest grass and therefore cannot survive by foraging on grass. For chickens to grow and thrive, they require a balanced diet. In addition to insects and seeds found while foraging, our birds are provided a grain supplement for optimum nutrition. This grain supplement contains no GMOs, no animal byproducts and no chemicals. Soy-free options are also available.
Our farmers raise their chickens without the use of routine antibiotics and added hormones (note: all poultry is hormone-free because hormone use in poultry is unlawful). Because our chickens are raised in a truly natural environment, sickness in the flock is uncommon. If a bird does become ill, however, it is removed from the flock and treated. No birds that have been administered antibiotics are ever included in our processed flock.
In harmony with the care and devotion with which our chickens are raised, they are treated with as much care and respect as possible during the harvest. Our chickens are harvested at a USDA-inspected processing facility that uses humane slaughter and humane handling methods. The facility actively manages their humane handling program and ensures that all staff strictly adhere to the processes.
All cuts are individually vacuum-packed in clear bags and then flash frozen at the peak of freshness. Our most popular cuts include the following:
